Ever since the first season of Amazon Prime Video’s web series Paatal Lok dropped on the streaming platform back in 2020, viewers had been waiting with baited breath for its second season. The wait is finally over and the makers of the acclaimed show have dropped the trailer of Paatal Lok season 2 on Monday and needless to say, it seems worth all the wait.
The two minute 42-seconds long trailer gives us glimpses of the new challenges that await Inspector Hathi Ram Chaudhary as he seeks the truth in a new murder case that takes him on a perilous journey from his familiar netherworld of Outer Jamna Paar station to the unknown, dangerous terrains of Nagaland.

The trailer reveals that Jonathan Thom – the founder of Nagaland Democratic Forum has been brutally murdered in Delhi and now the Delhi Police must do everything in their capacity to nab the perpetrators. While Hathi Ram is faced with tough challenges while solving the case on duty, he is also battling personal battles.
Ishwak Singh returns as Imran Ansari in the second season. However, this time as a senior Police official after clearing his IPS exams. Hathi Ram finds it tough and awkward, adjusting to saluting somebody who was once a junior officer to him. On the other hand, his wife, essayed by Gul Panag, too doesn’t seem too pleased with the dangerous nature of his job.

Tillotama Shome, who makes a brief appearance in the trailer, seems to be an interesting new addition to the cast of the show. However, some fans of the first season may miss the brilliance of Neeraj Kabi and Swastika Mukherjee. While the first season had a worthy antagonist in Abhishek Banerjee’s brilliant portrayal of Hathoda Tyagi, it will be interesting to see who the antagonist will be in season 2.
This season also features Nagesh Kukunoor, Jahnu Barua, Anurag Arora, Prashant Tamang, among others in crucial roles. Written by Sudip Sharma, Abhishek Banerjee, Rahul Kanojia, and Tamal Sen, the series has been directed by Avinash Arun Dhaware. Produced by Karnesh Ssharma and Babita Ashiwal, Paatal Lok season 2 has been created by Sudip Sharma.
Will Hathi Ram be able to investigate this high-profile murder case and overcome the hurdles and powerful locals of the remote north-eastern part of the country? Will he be able to keep his personal life free of any tragedies? Will he be able to uncover the truth? We will have to wait till January 17, 2025 to know the answers.
