From Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe to the YRF Spy Universe, Bollywood is set to expand cinephiles’ horizons with multiple movie franchises in different genres. Recently, Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe has garnered the most attention from movie lovers. After offering two back-to-back blockbusters in 2024 with Munjya and Stree 2, the Dinesh Vijan-led production company has unveiled an exciting lineup for 2025 and beyond. Movie buffs are elated and highly anticipating the 8 films that have been recently announced.
Maddock Films New Announcement
Post the release of Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2, the makers announced the upcoming film of this horror-comedy universe called Thama across all social media platforms on October 20, 2024. The official announcement also unveiled that the anticipated movie is set to star Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in pivotal roles.

Meanwhile, within two days into the year 2025, Maddock Films unveiled a huge list including their 8 films in the franchise. The production giant took to their official Instagram handle and shared a poster containing the titles of the highly anticipated movies with a quirky caption that reads, “Dinesh Vijan presents the genre defining lineup of #MaddockHorrorComedyUniverse 8 theatrical films that will take you on a wild ride of laughter, spooks, thrills and screams! (sic).”
Here’s a look at what’s coming next in this universe! As announced earlier, the Ayushmann starrer Thama is scheduled to release during Diwali 2025, followed by Shakti Shalini in December. Post that, in 2026, the movie buffs are set to witness Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2, and Chamunda. The year 2027 is set to bring Streeback with its third and final installment, while the Abhay Verma starrer will also return as Mahamunjya. Finally, the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe is expected to conclude in 2028 with Pehla Mahayudhand Doosara Mahayudh. However, the list of star cast for all the anticipated releases is yet to be out.
