After becoming the poster boy of patriotic films in Bollywood with movies like Rustom, Airlift, Baby, Holiday, and Kesari among others to his credit, Akshay Kumar is back with yet another film of the same flavour with his upcoming offering titled Sky Force. This time, he is joined by debutant Veer Pahariya with both portraying Indian Air Force officers.
Inspired by true events, the film is set against the backdrop of the Indo-Pakistan air war of 1965 and narrates the tale of the country’s first retaliatory air strike on Pakistan. The visuals of the trailer reveal that Veer’s character Captain T Vijaya goes missing in action. His wife, essayed by Sara Ali Khan, urges Akshay’s character to find him.
The trailer features quite a lot of chest-thumping patriotic lines, including one defining the very meaning of the word in relation to the missing officer. Of course, the notion that we can also hit back “Ghar mein ghus ke” too makes an appearance coupled with Akshay telling Pakistani forces that their “Baap” Hindustan is there to teach them a lesson.

In case it wasn’t evident enough, the makers have also infused Lata Mangeshkar’s iconic Aye Mere Watan Ke Logo song which plays in the backdrop towards the concluding moments of the trailer. Going by the visuals of the two minute 49 seconds long trailer, the visual effects seem sub par and give the feeling of being in a video game.
Sky Force also stars Nimrat Kaur and Sharad Kelkar in significant roles. Directed by Sandeep Kewlani and Abhishek Anil Kapur, the film has been produced by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, Amar Kaushik, and Sahil Baber Khan. Tanishk Bagchi has composed the music album while the background score has been given by Justin Varghese. The film will hit the theatres on January 24, 2025.
