Ranbir Kapoor sent fans into a frenzy when he went live on Instagram on February 14, making Valentine’s Day special for them. Among many things, the Bollywood actor shared exciting news with his admirers and updates on his most anticipated sequels, upcoming ventures, and more.
During the latest live stream on the Instagram handle of his fashion and lifestyle brand ARKS, fans’ curiosity about Brahmastra 2 caught Ranbir’s attention the most. When asked about the update on the sequel to Ayan Mukerji’s fantasy action-adventure film, the Bollywood actor mentioned that it is set to begin rolling sooner than expected.

Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva, written by director Ayan himself alongside Hussain Dalal, was released in September 2022 with mixed reviews. However, the fantasy movie, also starring Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna, with Shah Rukh Khan in a special appearance, went on to become one of the most admired and talked about theatrical outings that year. Even before the release, Ayan informed the cinephiles that Brahmastra is set to be a franchise with three parts.
After the first one, the sequel is officially named Brahmāstra: Part Two – Dev. There’s not much information revealed about the upcoming movie; however, there have been a few sequences in the 2022 release that confirm Deepika as the leading lady in Brahmastra 2. Meanwhile, there have also been multiple theories by fans that suggest the male lead to be Ranveer Singh; however, there has been no official confirmation from the makers as of yet.
During his live session on IG, the actor was also asked if there’s a possibility of a sequel to Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. To which he clarified that the 2013 movie feels complete on its own, and the filmmakers are trying to explore a pool of new narratives. YJHD is among the most celebrated films of Ranbir. The 2013 coming-of-age romantic comedy movie also stars Deepika Padukone, alongside Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur in pivotal roles. It marks the second film of Ranbir and Ayan teaming up as an actor-director duo.
