After several cinematic adaptations, the epic Ramayana is all set to be presented in a never-seen-before scale and grandeur. The makers of the film on Wednesday confirmed that it will release in two parts. Several reports stating that the film will have Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi playing Lord Ram and Sita respectively, had already been doing the rounds for quite some time.

Producer Namit Malhotra officially announced his magnum opus project titled Ramayana on November 6, 2024. Taking to his social media pages, he shared the first poster from the two-part film and wrote in the caption, “More than a decade ago, I embarked on a noble quest to bring this epic that has ruled billions of hearts for over 5000 years to the big screen. And today, I am thrilled to see it taking shape beautifully as our teams work tirelessly with only one purpose: to present the most authentic, sacred, and visually stunning adaptation of our history, our truth, and our culture – our “RAMAYANA”– for people across the world.”

Ramayana cast
While reports of Ranbir playing Lord Ram and Sai Pallavi playing Sita in the upcoming Nitesh Tiwari directorial got confirmed when a few pictures of both the actors got leaked on social media, KGF star Yash too had confirmed playing Ravana in the project during his conversation with The Hollywood Reporter India.
If rumours doing the rounds are to be believed, then Lara Dutta has been roped in to play Kaikeyi and Sunny Deol has been finalised to step into the role of Hanuman. Sheeba Chaddha will reportedly essay Manthara and Arun Govil is likely to play the character of Dashrath in the film. However, an official confirmation from the makers is yet to come on the final cast of the ambitious project.
