The makers of Sharad Kelkar and Harleen Sethi starrer upcoming web series Doctors have unveiled its trailer and going by the looks of it, the medical drama appears quite intriguing. We’re introduced to the high-stakes world of a top hospital where Dr Ishaan Ahuja (Sharad) is reputed to be the country’s number one neurosurgeon. He’s joined by Dr Nitiya Vasu (Harleen) as a new resident who is on a secret vengeance mission.
The rest of the trailer offers glimpses of the tough situations that these doctors are faced with and how difficult it is for them to make life altering decisions in a split second. We also get a sense of them being torn in the battle of their oath vs their inner voice. Watch the trailer here:
Speaking about the series, Sharad said in a statement that the show provided him an opportunity to step out of his comfort zone. He said, “Portraying Dr. Ishaan Ahuja has been an exciting and fulfilling experience. He’s a complex character, shaped by his past, yet remains dedicated to his work as a doctor.” The actor also mentioned that he’d spent quite a lot of time in workshops with real doctors to a “deeper understanding of their work and the emotional challenges they face daily.”
Harleen described her experience of playing Dr Nitiya Vasu as “an intense and rewarding journey”. She recalled that her prep for her character not only about learning the medical terms. It was more about “understanding the emotional depth of a character driven by passion, pain, and purpose,” she said in a statement, and added, “Navigating her feelings in the high-pressure world of medicine was challenging but also very exciting.”
Directed by Sahir Raza, the web series also stars Aamir Ali, Viraf Patell, Vivaan Shah, Niharika Lyra Dutt, among others. Produced by Siddharth P Malhotra and Sapna Malhotra under the banner of Alchemy Films Pvt Ltd, and Jyoti Deshpande, the series will begin streaming on Jio Cinema from December 27, 2024.
