Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer The Buckingham Murders is gearing up for its OTT release after a decent job in theatres. Directed by Hansal Mehta, the crime thriller drama marks the first production of Kareena alongside Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor under the banner of Balaji Motion Pictures and Mahana Films.
Story of The Buckingham Murders
Jasmeet Bhamra has been assigned to solve a missing-cum-murder investigation of a 10-year-old kid. Amid battling her own mental and emotional challenges after losing her own child not so long ago, the British-Indian detective is adamant about bringing justice to the deceased child and his parents. However, with so many suspects in line, she finds herself caught in a strange trap and a wave of confusion sweeps over her.

The cast of the film
Alongside Kareena as Jasmeet Bhamra, the thriller drama also has Keith Allen, Ranveer Brar, Prabhleen Sandhu and Sarah-Jane Dias in key roles. Sanjeev Mehra, Ash Tandon, Kapil Redekar, Jonathan Nyati, Darren Kemp, Charles Craddock, Rukku Nahar, Haqi Ali and Adwoa Akoto also feature in the film.
Critical Reception
The crime-drama film did an underwhelming job at the box office during its theatrical run. However, plenty of critics have praised the film as well as Kareena’s craft of mastering the art of portraying an unconventional character such as a grieving mother cum investigating officer.

The Hansal Mehta directorial is penned by Aseem Arrora, who has also penned the screenplay of the movie alongside Raghav Raj Kakker and Kashyap Kapoor. Bankrolled under Balaji Motion Pictures, Mahana Films and Pen Marudhar Entertainment, the crime thriller film marks the production debut of Kareena alongside Shobha Kapoor and Ekta Kapoor. The Buckingham Murders is set to be available on Netflix from November 8.
