The makers of Ajay Devgn’s next titled Azaad unveiled the film’s teaser on Tuesday. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor, who’s known for his films like Kai Po Che, Rock On, and Kedarnath, Azaad will mark the acting debut of Raveena Tandon’s daughter Rasha Thadani and Ajay Devgn’s nephew Aaman Devgan in Hindi cinema.
For those who’re caught unaware, Aaman is the son of Ajay’s sister Neelam Devgan. The one minute 47 seconds long teaser gives quite a few glimpses of the upcoming action adventure film, which seems to explore the themes of friendship and loyalty.
Azaad teaser
The teaser of the film begins with visuals of what appears to be pre-Independence India, in the voiceover of a woman who’s narrating the tale of Maharaja Pratap’s loyal horse Chetak in the battle of Haldighati. The visuals have Ajay Devgn mounted on his horse in a battlefield, surrounded by enemies. It seems that the horse goes missing in the battle and Aaman’s character then takes up the task of finding the horse.
Rasha’s character is introduced as she comes out of a carriage, looking enchanting. Though, there are only a couple of her shots in the teaser, it would be safe to say that her character belongs to the royal and affluent class. On the other hand, Aaman’s rustic and rugged look is in sharp contrast to that of Rasha.

Azaad cast and crew
In addition to Ajay, Aaman and Rasha, Azaad also stars Diana Penty who features in a blink and miss appearance in the teaser. It seems that she plays Ajay’s love interest. We also get a few glimpses of Rasha and Aaman grooving to a song, which appears to be a Holi track. Mohit Malik and Piyush Mishra also play significant parts in the film which has been co-written by Abhishek Kapoor, Ritesh Shah, and Suresh Nair. The songs of the movie have been penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya and Swanand Kirkire while the film’s music has been composed by Amit Trivedi.
Azaad is slated to hit the theatres in January 2025.
