Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna have finally announced their much-awaited film in the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Earlier called Vampires of Vijay Nagar by the cinephiles, the highly anticipated movie has been officially titled Thama. The lead actors, collaborating for the first time, took to their social media handles and shared the latest motion picture of their horror-comedy flick.

Maddock Supernatural Universe is one of the most loved horror-comedy franchises in India. After the massive success of Munjya and Stree 2, the makers have geared up to add a new chapter to their hit film series. Ayushmann and Rashmika dropped the latest motion poster on Instagram with a peppy caption that says, “Dinesh Vijan’s Horror Comedy Universe needed a love story… unfortunately, it’s a bloody one. Brace yourselves for #Thama – Diwali 2025!” The latest montage displays the names of the pivotal actors and makers along with the film’s title. Meanwhile, an intense romantic song can be heard in the background.

The cast of the Thama
Along with Ayushmann and Rashmika as the lead couple, the anticipated film also features Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. In the latest official statement, the makers mentioned that their upcoming film promises to introduce a gripping love story set against a bloody backdrop. In a recent interview with Variety, the Vicky Donor actor reveals his excitement to be a part of Dinesh Vijan’s film. He adds that the creator-producer anticipates that it is the best time for him (Ayushmann) to enter the blockbuster horror-comedy universe.

Directed by the Munjya fame filmmaker, Aditya Sarpotdar, the highly awaited horror comedy film is penned by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew and Arun Fulara. Bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik under Maddock Films, Thama is slated for a theatrical release on Diwali 2025.
