Looks like Neeraj Pandey is back to doing what he does best with his forthcoming film titled Sikandar Ka Muqaddar. The ace director who has previously given us impressive thrillers like A Wednesday (2008), Special 26 (2013), Baby (2015), had hit a bit of a rough patch with his last two directorials – Aiyaary (2018) and Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha (2024) falling flat at the ticket windows.
After the debacle of the romantic thriller Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha starring Ajay Devgn and Tabu in the lead earlier this year, Neeraj is all set to be back with a heist thriller mystery – a genre he seems to have mastered. The makers of Sikandar Ka Muqaddar dropped the film’s trailer on November 11 and it has certainly piqued the interest of the fans.
What’s Sikandar Ka Muqaddar about?
Going by the trailer, the film seems to revolve around a diamond heist. Early in the two-minute 29-seconds long trailer, we get to know that a few red solitaires have been stolen and an investigating officer named Jaswinder (Jimmy Shergill) is tasked to find out the culprit.
Jaswinder appears to be a man who trusts his intuitions a lot. Guided by his instincts, he puts Mangesh Desai (Rajeev Mehta), Kamini Singh (Tamannaah Bhatia), and Sikandar Sharma (Avinash Tiwary) under the scanner as the prime suspects. While the story seems to begin with the heist in the year 2008, it seems to take a 15-year leap by the end of the trailer where we meet Sikandar having a one-on-one conversation with Jaswinder, after seemingly trying to escape from his clutches all these years. On the other hand, we see glimpses which give us an idea that Jaswinder becomes obsessed with nabbing the culprit over the years and won’t rest in peace before he solves the case.

Sikandar Ka Muqaddar cast:
The film stars Jimmy Shergill, Avinash Tiwary, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Rajeev Mehta in the lead. We also see a few glimpses of Divya Dutta in the trailer. While not much has been revealed about her character yet, it seems that she’ll be playing a significant part in the film. Going by the trailer, Jimmy looks in top form and so does Avinash. Tamannaah seems to be donning a hatke avatar for the most part of the film.

The mystery heist thriller is all set to begin streaming online from November 29. It will be available to stream on Netflix.
