Riding high on the momentum of his recent release The Sabarmati Report, actor Vikrant Massey has decided to take a break from his acting career, prioritising is personal life at the moment. On Monday, December 2, 2024, the 12th Fail actor left his fans in shock when he announced that he’s taking a step back from acting in order to “recalibrate and go back home.”

In an Instagram post, Vikrant reflected on his phenomenal stint as an actor in the last few years and thanked his fans for their “indelible support.” He continued and wrote, “But as I move forward, I realise its time to recalibrate and go back home. As a Husband, Father & a Son. And also as an Actor.”
Furthermore, Vikrant mentioned that in the coming year (2025) he’d be seen on the screens for “one last time” – referring to the impending release of his upcoming two films, “Until time deems right.” Check out his post here:
Not an exit, but a break from acting?
Such a sudden announcement by the actor has definitely sent shockwaves among his ardent fans. While several media reports have stated that the actor has quit the profession altogether, however, on carefully reading his social media post, it seems that the 37-year-old actor is going on a sabbatical, prioritising his duties as a family man first and would make a return once things are more settled in his personal life.
A number of actors have commented on Vikrant’s post, showering him with love. Actress Dia Mirza’s comment further solidifies our belief that this may not be him calling it quits with acting, but a break from it to prioritise his personal life. “Breaks are best ❤️ you’ll be even more amazing on the other side,” read Dia’s comment.
Vikrant Massey’s upcoming films in 2025
Post The Sabarmati Report, Vikrant’s upcoming lineup of films include Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan and Yaar Jigri. The actor has made it clear that he won’t be taking up any more projects in the near future, after finishing these two, that are apparently scheduled to hit the theatres in 2025.
For those who’re unversed, Vikrant started his journey as an actor on Television with a show titled Dhoom Machao Dhoom. He shot to fame with his stint in Balika Vadhu in the year 2009. His onscreen debut in films came in 2013 with Lootera that starred Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha in the leads. He was also seen in a small role in Zoya Akhtar’s Dil Dhadakne Do in 2015, before landing a leading part in Konkona Sen Sharma’s directorial debut film – A Death in the Gunj in 2017.
