The journey of an actor can often be a subject of speculations and discussions, especially when one carries the legacy of a superstar like Aamir Khan. However, Aamir’s son Junaid Khan, who made his debut with the Netflix film Maharaj in 2024, recently addressed several misconceptions about the opportunities he receives, offering a glimpse into the realities of his budding career.

Junaid Khan on film offers:
Speaking at the trailer launch event of his upcoming film Loveyapa in Mumbai on Friday, Junaid debunked speculations that he would be flooded with film offers. “Honestly speaking, it is not true that I am offered so many scripts to choose from,” he told the media persons who were present at the event.

“I finished shooting my first film Maharaj in 2021, and it is now that my second film is releasing, after three years. For two years, I did not shoot anything after that,” he added.

Junaid’s reflections underline his gratitude for the opportunities that have come his way. “At this stage of my career, when I am just starting off, it is a big deal for me to get a good script and good people to collaborate with,” he said. Junaid also expressed excitement about working with established actors like Ashutosh Rana and Kiku Sharda, adding, “Aisa mauka kahan milta hai!”

How Junaid Khan landed Loveyapa:
Loveyapa, directed by Advait Chandan, produced by AGS Entertainment and Phantom Studios, is a romantic comedy. The film is a remake of the 2022 Tamil hit Love Today. For Junaid, the role was an exciting challenge. Recalling the casting process, he shared, “I remember when Madhu (Mantena, producer) sir suggested I watch a Tamil film. He said he bought the rights to remake it and was considering me for the part. I asked him if he was sure because the role is far from my personality. But both Madhu sir and Advait were confident, and that’s how I ended up playing the part.”

Junaid Khan on his Loveyapa co-star Khushi Kapoor:
The actor will be seen sharing the screen with Khushi Kapoor for the first time and their fresh onscreen pair has grabbed a lot of attention online. While interacting with the press, Junaid also spoke about how delighted he was to get the opportunity to work with her. He said, “I was quite excited to know that I was working with Khushi because I never met her before. Eventually, everything was really nice!”

The film will hit the theatres on February 7, 2025.
