Anupam Kher starrer Vijay 69 is all set for its direct-to-digital release. Written and directed by Akshay Roy, the upcoming OTT movie also has Chunky Pandey and Mihir Ahuja (from The Archies) in key roles. The makers have recently released the official trailer of the anticipated movie that sees the 69-year-old man’s resilience.
Story of Vijay 69
As the title suggests, the movie follows the tale of 69-year-old Vijay (Anupam), who often comes across as an irritable man having a spat with people. A sudden incident completely changes his view towards life, which turns him into a determined competitor as he trains rigorously for the triathlon despite facing skepticism and ridicule. Meanwhile, his coach (Mihir) and best friend (Chunky) become his unwavering supporter and enthusiastic cheerleader adding depth to this inspiring narrative.
However, his determination is challenged due to a few strict rules of the triathlon as well as his health issues. Some of his well-wishers advise him to withdraw his name from the difficult competition, while a few people laugh at him due to his stubbornness.
The cast of the film
Alongside Anupam in the titular role with Chunky and Mihir as key characters, the anticipated sports drama movie also has the veteran Guddi Maruti, Adrija Sinha, Vrajesh Hirjee and Kunal Vijaykar.
Release date
Akshay Roy directed the film as well as wrote it with Abbas Tyrewala. The much-awaited movie is bankrolled by Maneesh Sharma alongside Yogendra Mogre, Rakshit Shetty and Akshaye Widhani under YRF Entertainment. Vijay 69 is all set to stream on Netflix from November 8.

The biographical political drama film stars Kangana Ranaut as former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi, and also features Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, Milind Soman and Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles.
