The much anticipated third season of Netflix’s popular teen drama series Mismatched is all set to hit the small screens next month. On Thursday, protagonists Rohit Saraf and Prajakta Koli made it official that Mismatched season 3 will begin streaming on the OTT giant from December 13, 2024.

Adapted from the book titled When Dimple Met Rishi written by Sandhya Menon, the first season of Mismatched premiered on Netflix back in 2020. Little did anyone know that Dimple (played by Prajakta) and Rishi (essayed by Rohit) will end up becoming one of the most loved on-screen couples, especially by the netizens. The duo of DimpShi (as their fans call them) managed to carve a niche in the heart of their fans owing to their cute, heartwarming, easy-breezy chemistry.

On Thursday, Prajakta and Rohit announced the official release date of Mismatched S3 with a casual and fun video. In the said video, they can be seen taking a stroll together when they’re asked by an intruder about how they first met. They go down the memory lane and reminisce when Dimple had thrown cold coffee on Rishi (back in season one). The video ends with the date reveal that season three of the coming-of-age teenage romcom will begin streaming from December 13 on Netflix

The show has been directed by Akarsh Khurana and Nipun Dharmadhikari. In addition to Rohit and Prajakta, it stars Rannvijay Singha and Vidya Malvade in supporting roles. The show also features Muskkaan Jaferi, Vihaan Samat, Taaruk Raina, and Abhinav Sharma among others in significant roles.

While the first season mainly focused on introducing the characters, Dimple and Rishi’s meet cute at a summer internship, and inter-personal relationships at the internship camp, season two did a deep dive and dealt with more complex emotions and struggles. It also touched upon mental health and therapy-related issues quite realistically. It’ll be interesting to see what all drama unfolds in the third season. Watch this space…
