Sidhant Gupta, Chirag Vohra, and Malishka Mendonsa starrer Freedom at Midnight is the upcoming historical drama, which is set to arrive soon on OTT. The makers have unveiled a power-packed official trailer that gives an idea of the anticipated web series set during the time of India’s independence and partition in 1947.
About Freedom at Midnight
Set in the backdrop of India during 1947, Freedom at Midnight is based on the book of the same name by Dominique Lapierre and Larry Collins. The upcoming show depicts the disarray that took place during the time of India’s independence, which also witnessed the partition of the country in two parts. In a recently released trailer, the makers unveil the chaos among all the politicians and activists concerning crucial topics such as caste, religion, and division of the country and its people. Ministers sitting at some of the huge positions appear conflicted with each other’s views and remarks.

The cast and characters of the show
Sidhant and Chirag recreate the most crucial characters as Jawaharlal Nehru and Mahatma Gandhi respectively. Malishka portrays Sarojini Naidu alongside Rajendra Chawla as Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Meanwhile, Luke McGibney and Cordelia Bugeja appear as Lord Louis Mountbatten and Edwina Mountbatten. Arif Zakaria is Mohammad Ali Jinnah in this historical drama besides Ira Dubey, Rajesh Kumar, K.C. Shankar and Ahalya Shetty in pivotal roles. Andrew Cullum, Alistair Findlay, Ed Robinson, Richard Madison, Richard Teverson, and Guy Pinsent play supporting parts.

Bankrolled by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under the banners of Emmay Entertainment and StudioNext, the Nikkhil Advani-composed and directed show is co-written by Abhinandan Gupta, Adwitiya Kareng Das, Gundeep Kaur, Divya Nidhi Sharma, Revanta Sarabhai, and Ethan Taylor. Freedom at Midnight is set to release on Sony LIV on November 15.
