The makers of Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday starrer Kesari Chapter 2 unveiled its teaser on Monday, March 24, 2025. The one minute 30 seconds-long teaser begins with a one-of-a-kind never-seen-before first 30 seconds that are gut-wrenching, without any visuals.
The brilliantly cut teaser video takes you back to the fateful day of the Jallianwala Bagh massacre back in the month of April of the year 1919 with just a 30-second audio as you stare at a blank, dark screen; hearing the screams of those trapped within the walls of Jallianwala Bagh, sounds of gunshots being fired, helpless voices of innocent men, women and children trying to escape in vain, as the British soldiers close the exit and continue to fire.
As if these 30 seconds weren’t haunting enough, a voiceover tells you that the British soldiers kept firing for 10 minutes and did not even open the gates for 12 hours so that the injured get eaten up by birds of prey. A lot of us may have read about the Jallianwala Bagh massacre in our history books, so one may be aware of the tragedy. But these 30 seconds give a haunting sense of what may have transpired back then.

We’re then introduced to Akshay Kumar essaying a lawyer – Sir C Sankaran Nair, who made it is mission to take on the mighty British Empire post the tragic massacre. The film is said to be adapted from the book titled The Case That Shook The Empire, written by Pushpa Palat and Raghu Palat.

Our first thoughts on watching the teaser? That’s how you cut an impactful teaser, even if it is for a film that chronicles a known story. Talk about reinventing storytelling in an established format. With just a couple of dialogues, the teaser of Kesari 2 packs a solid punch and hits you right where it hurts.
Not much is known about the characters of Madhavan and Ananya yet. Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi, the film has been co-written by him and Amritpal Singh Bindra. The lyrics of the film have been penned by Irshad Kamil, with music and background score by Shashwat Sachdev. It is slated to hit the silver screens on April 18th, 2025.
